The wife

Sorry everyone I haven't been doing any post. Been busy teaching
my wife how to ride a bike. She has ridden a bike in her younger years but now she is over caution, hard on the breaks, going very slow resulting a un-balance ride which in returns scares the daylight out of her.

Anyway the story so far is.

Before I got her the new spanking Cervelo bike, she said she knew how to ride a bike so I thought

new bike
show her how to un-clip from the pedals on the trainer
show her how to use the SRAM gears

Sound easy but nothing in life is easy right

The saddle on the RS was too hard
She really didn't get the hang of the un-clipping
She didn't understand the gears

So we got a female saddle for her extra cushion & hole in the middle and it was wider.

We soon realize she has lost her confidence in riding so we went back to basics. We couldn't learn on the RS it was to harsh so we borrowed her younger sisters bike.

Gears with numbers, seat lower to the ground and normal pedals.

First night she tried on the bike I had to give her a bit of a push and held onto her just incase she fell. She rode for a few minutes and her leg muscles complained for a few days. But Connie is a determine girl who wont give up. The next day she tried again going longer distance and working gears. And tonight she did really well starting off on the bike by her self and learning how to break and changing gears.

Her next step is trying to master the turns. Lets say tonight she had a run in with a stationary Ute that was parked on the curbed, you know when you see something in front of you and all you can think in your head "Avoid the Ute Avoid the Ute" smack.. damit!!

Shes all fine but tomorrow shes going to have a bruise on her right arm. Gee she bruises easily.

Oh yeah I have to do some serious training this week, got the Cyclosportif York event this Sunday. 54km Group B.
